about me
I am a full-time professional writer, editor,
and content developer based in northern Virginia. I work
with clients from around the country and
in the DC area on online and mobile content, museum exhibitions, books, magazine articles, social media, and
audio and video projects, as well as marketing collateral such
as rack cards and brochures.
During my years at Time-Life Books, I gained experience in outlining, planning, and creating editorial
projects. As a freelance writer and editor, I have applied those skills to projects for museums, art galleries, national parks, book publishers, magazines, libraries, and
others.
My work has
included a wide range of nonfiction subjects, including science, the arts, and how-to projects. I
have tackled topics from Shakespeare to stamp collecting, and
from space science, modern history, and literature to modern
art and popular music.
I have a bachelor's degree with highest honors from Princeton University in international relations and I have completed professional development courses in web writing, basic web design, and
book publishing, including the Stanford Professional Publishing Course.
I am a member of Washington Book Publishers, the American
Alliance of Museums (formerly the American Association of Museums), the Editorial Freelancers Association, and the Time-Life Alumni Society.
